Thank you so much for checking out Gimme that Sugar!
Gimme that Sugar is a husband-wife team living out a dream to open a cotton candy food truck to serve in their community, and home, in Cobb County, GA.
Lynn & Phil met in 1997 and were semi-high school sweethearts, as Lynn was still in high school, and Phil was a freshman in college. They moved to GA in 2005 and have lived in Kennesaw since 2015. They have two sons, Liam (13) and Maddox (4) and two cats, Tony & Boo.
The idea for a cotton candy food truck came from Lynn & Phil's genuine love for sweets and sugary foods. Seriously, on one date night, they learned how to make fried Oreos - and they were perrrfect.
Even though most people love cotton candy, Lynn's thought was that it's rare to experience fresh handspun cotton candy.
So, why not bring that to people, quite literally? It was decided that the cotton candy business needed to be mobile!
Lynn perused classifieds and FB Marketplace for old trucks and buses. She came across the perfect truck and found out that it was in perfect condition for what was needed to get started. Phil spent days scrubbing the truck down and months working on learning 'how to' all of the new equipment. Once the truck was wrapped, she became known as Candy Truck.
So, where did Candy come from? She was about to go to an auction when she was found. After Hurricane Katrina, the Red Cross purchased these trucks to deploy when other disasters would hit. The trucks were used after several hurricanes and were mostly used to hand out foods and products for victims.
